Established in September 2026, the CSR Advisory Board is envisioned as a distinguished group of respected leaders and experienced members of our community who can provide independent perspective, thoughtful counsel, and strategic insight. The Advisory Board serves as a trusted source of non-binding strategic advice to the School Board, School Committee, and Parents Committee, complementing their work while bringing a broader and more objective perspective to important matters concerning CSR.

Members of the Advisory Board are nominated by members of the School Board, School Committee, or Parents Committee and are jointly appointed by the Principal and Board Chair for a renewable two-year term.

An Advisory Board member may contribute in one or more of the following areas:

  • Develop an understanding of Chinese education in the era of artificial intelligence and help CSR anticipate emerging opportunities and challenges.

  • Provide “wise counsel” on specific issues brought forward by CSR leadership.

  • Offer unbiased insights and ideas from an independent, third-party perspective.

  • Encourage and support the exploration of new ideas and initiatives.

  • Serve as a resource and sounding board for CSR leadership.

  • Facilitate social and professional networking opportunities for CSR leadership and the broader CSR community.

  • Encourage the development of a governance framework that supports the sustainable growth and long-term success of CSR.

  • Provide perspectives on CSR’s overall performance and organizational development.

  • Constructively challenge the School Board and School Committee when appropriate, with the goal of strengthening CSR’s operations and effectiveness.

  • Undertake other specific tasks as appropriate.
